What's a good time to drive the 405 to Irvine from Long Beach?

I just moved to Long Beach, but I work in Irvine, off the 73. I left this morning at 7:20, and it took me 85 minutes to get here. I have some flexibility with my start time at work, so when should I be leaving home to get here without sitting in traffic for half an hour or more? 8:30? 9:00?

Which of these two things would you be more likely to do?


Or am I just doomed like everyone else?

doomed, sadly.. anytime from 7-9 is pretty bad.. I think before 7 might be a little bit beterr, but for the most part..
