i just turned 16 and have done the parent taught model program 101 drivers ed thing. what do i need to bring in to the dps? what should i expect when i am there? do they just take your picture and give you your license?

I just got my Tx license last September. You have to pass the written test, which is fairly basic, then they'll tell you you need to come back & take the road test.Can a WA drivers licesnse be suspended for no insurance?
I was suprised as I passed the written at like 9am, but they said you have to come back, early (like at 7:30 when they open) & they assign you a road test time.

The road test takes about 10 minutes & you parallel park at the DPS, & then drive around the block . Be sure to come to a complete stop at signs.

Be sure to also take your birth certificate and if you have one a school id. You will also do an eye exam while there so if you wear glasses don't be coy, bring them . . . you can always take them off for your picture.
