I have had my provisional license for a while now, but I don't think I was sent the D740 paper counterpart. I don't know if this is because the provisional doesn't come with one, or it was lost in the post.
Should I have the paper part? If so, how should I go about getting them to send me one?
Owner - operator info needed?
Yes you would have had a D740 Counterpart Drivers Licence. The mail printing machines in DVLA cannot produce and send a photocard without a counterpart as it is the address on the counterpart that shows through the window of the envelope.
What are your opinions about the different car insurance companies? Which one is the best?
You can apply for a duplicate licence over the phone - cost £19 - provided your address has not changed - call 0870 240 0009. It will then be despatched within 48 hours
Can anyone help me with a car insurace problem??
If your address has changed (or you don't have a credit/debit card) you will need a D1 application form from any postoffice - complete sections 1 to 5 and sign and date section 8 - no photo needed and no ID needed. Send it with your photocard and a cheque or postal order made out to DVLA and send it to DVLA, Swansea, SA99 1AB.

How do claim of third party insurance?
Im almost certain you should have a paper counterpart with your photocard. even though its only a provisional, both parts make up your license as with a full license, and if you were unlucky enough to get any points on your license for any reason, they would be documented on the paper part.
What Cars are stolen the most?
As for where you'd get one from im not sure. as you've had it for a while i doubt you could get one resent for free. so you'll probably find the dvla want a fee to replace a lost one. its worth finding out as it may cause problems when you go for your test if you dont have it, or if they expect you to send it back with your card when you upgrade.
