Thanks for reading my question. I was in a car accident about a wek ago. It is not my fault, and the police confirmed that. Now my car still runs but I have a window that is open, and I'm worried about security and rain. The other driver insurance company is taking so long. What should I do. I am in florida by the way, and I am insured too. Should I let my insurance cover it and let them deal with the other drivers insurance? (Will this make my insurance rate go up?) Should I bring the car to a repair shop and get a rental car and let them reimburse me later? Thanks again.

let your insurance contact the other one ! i am in Florida also and had an accident 4 months ago my insurance took care of it within 2 days I got a call from other company and my wrecked car was taken care of I was given a rental also all at the cost of other insuring company !Contact your insurance company they will help and it wont cost it's not your fault.
yes to all your questions except your insurance going up ...if you have a police report stating the other person was at fault ...don't forget to have the other driver pay your deductible as well!

dont NOT i repeat... do NOT get repairs and a rental on your own. No one on here can confirm or deny how this will affect your insurance coverage.. but they are going to know you were in an accident regardless.Go through your own insurance company and pay your deductible.. they will go after the other insurance company to get your deductible back and they will send it to you at a later date.
P.S... the guy below is misinformed. Yes, of course you are the victim here. but you cant just "demand" they help you. They have to investigate as well as make sure coverage is in place.. some problems at their end that may delay the claim.
1) Maybe the guys policy is expired
2) Maybe an unlisted or excluded driver was driving
3) Maybe they disagree with liability
4) maybe their driver is not cooperating
