Car Insurance in a different state?
I don't know where you live but in some areas you can't register a car with unpaid parking tickets so they will find out if you don't get it paid on time. Some municipalities send letters to the registered owner of the car to inform them of unpaid parking tickets so I wouldn't wait to pay it. It shouldn't affect your insurance at all though because it is not a moving violation and only moving violations go on your driving record.Where can you rent a car without a credit card?
As a parent I would rather a kid come clean with something like this rather than try to hide it. Especially if you have a good plan to pay the ticket. Hiding it sounds a lot like lying and I hate it when someone lies to me especially my kids. They would get in more trouble for lying than they would have for the original offense. All punishments were doubled, they learned very quickly not to lie.
Moving violations are the only thing that effect Ins. a parking ticket has no bearing on how safe a driver you are which is what ins. is concerned with. If you dont want you parents to find out dont tell them but this brings some honesty issues up as well.
has any one ever got a car or truck stolen?
To keep it from your parents, pay all fees with a cashier's check (unless you have your own checking account), and mail it with a return address different from your parents' house. The effect on your insurance depends on the state you reside in. In most states, your insurance is affected unless you take defensive driving or ask the court for deferred adjudication. If you pursue one those two remedies, the insurance will never find out (and hopefully neither will your parents!) Call the court phone number indicated on your ticket ASAP and ask about these two options to avoid having this ticket count against you. They are usually very helpful and informative. If you just pay the ticket outright, it will be reported to the insurance company and will usually count against you and maybe lead to a rate hike, depending on prior record. Best of luck! I've been there, dude!
