Question:
I moved to MIchigan about a year ago and in order to lease a car I have to get a michigan license instead of my valid TX one. They need your social security number in order to get one. I lost my card a while back, but I have W-2 forms and other forms with my number on it. Will they accept it? Or do I have to have the actual card? If so, when I go to the Social security office how long will it take to get a replacement card?

How do I convert my out-of-state driver's license to a Michigan license?
Answer:
Take your current out-of-state driver's license, Social Security number, acceptable proof of identification, and acceptable proof of residency to a Secretary of State branch office. You will be given a vision test and your out-of-state driver’s license will be converted to a Michigan driver's license.
As to social security, you never need the card, only the number. Get that license switched over today before you get ticketed. That's something you are supposed to do in the first 30 days.
You'll get a temporary one right then and there, I think. Then you get the official one in the mail. Which card did you lose? i don't understand...as long as you explain the situation at the car registration place, they'll give you a driver's liscense. that is, if you have the proper ID
If I don't have unisured motorist coverage?
No you should not have to get another card. Your social security card itself is very rarely used. If you happen to have your birth certificate that would really help. If not, take what you have in. They can usually run everything through the SSA database and verify who you are that way.Goodluck!

Which one the best comprehensive car insurance?
It doesn't take long to get a card-a couple of weeks. If you go to the SS office you can get a valid printout of your card which serves as a temporary "card" until the new one arrives
Person that hit my car is taking to long to pay me?
I misplaced my daughter's card in a move. Had to get a new one so she could get a job. I found out that the SSA limits you to 10 cards in a lifetime-but I don't think that includes if you change your name -ie marriage or divorce.
Because of identity theft-put your card in a safe place-like a fire proof safe or lock box. If it was in your wallet along with your license which has your birthday on it-your identity could be stolen. If that is how you came to lose your card-check with the 3 credit reporting bureaus for any suspicious activity on your reports. You can make it so the credit reporting agencies will contact you before credit is opened in your name. Doing this can and will save you a lot of headaches in the future.
