Question:
I bought the car from a salavage lot here in St. Louis, Mo called "Pick and Pull" formally known as "You Wrench it" The car runs great but it needs a front exhuast and a rear muffler. I didn't have the money to fix it right away so while waiting to come up with the money fix those things I lost the tiltle. The people at "Pick and Pull" said I would have to contact the original owner and the because all they had was copies of our transacton and the MO, DMV wont except a copies. Is there anyway around this? I need the TITLE Bad
Answers:
Can I take my name off a car loan and leave it to the cosigner?
There is a page from the Missouri DMV that will tell you how to get a duplicate title. That might be your best bet in this situation. The only thing is I don't know how long it will take because it's processed through the DMV. Hope this link helps you be able to start the process, though.http://www.dor.mo.gov/mvdl/motorv/titler...
No the only way is to do a title search, its better if you started it yesterday
If you didnt register the car in your name then you need to go to the dealer, find out who they got the car from. Contact that person and ask if they can file for a lost title. It will come back in their name so i hope you can trust them. OR you can take the bill of sale to the DMV and tell them you lost it and maybe you can file for a lost title. GOOD luck!
simply goto the dmv and file for a lost title.. as long as the dmv search doesnt come up as stolen or a lien on the existing title.. they will re issue a new one to you.
