Help...Please...Need a VIN# from a License plate #?

SO WE SOLD A CAR IN AUGUST OF 2006...IN OCTOBER SOMEONE (THE GIRL WE SOLD IT TOO) GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT AND THE CAR WAS NEVER REGISTERED UNDER HER NAME TO DMV..SO WE HAVE TO FILL OUT PAPERWORK AND SUBMIT PROOF... AGAIN..THEY NEED THE VIN# DMV WILL NOT GIVE IT TO US...WE ONLY HAVE THE LICENSE PLATE # AND THE ADDRESS AND PH# THAT SHE GAVE US..SHE DOESNT LIVE THERE ANYMORE...I NEED THE VIN#...WHERE CAN I LOOK OR WHAT CAN I DO...THANK YOU!!!

You could look on an old insurance policy, an old registration form, call your insurance agent or go to the dealer that sold it to you.
