Question:
My car was totaled in a car accident last Monday. I do not have comp/collision coverage on my vehicle so my insurance company will not be giving me anything for it. What is my next step? So far my cost for having it there is nearly $300 and everyday it sits there is another $20. What is my next step in terms of contacting a junk yard? How much do they usually give you for totaled vehicles? There was no damage to the engine, it was t-boned on the passenger side so the door pillar is crushed and the roof is split on the top.

Get out the phone book. Did you get hit by someone else? I can't imagine a situation where your car would get t-boned and it be your fault. The other drivers insurance will have to pay you for it. If the other driver has no insurance, then you'll have to sue them. I'd talk to a lawyer before I got rid of it. Have the car moved somewhere you don't have to pay storage on it.
