we are moving to spain and have purchased a spanish registered car here in the uk. It had spanish tax and mot but the move has taken longer than estimated. we dont want to drive into spain with in untaxed car with no mot also we cannot tax the car here as it is registered in spain!! Is there any way we can tax the car for use in spain while we are still in uk - also what would happen if we tried to drive to spain with no tax and mot with the intention of taxing and mot when we get there. What would a spanish visitor to uk do if his tax and mot ran out while they were in uk, that seems to be the situation we are in

l think you have been 'taken for a ride' it's something you should never have done. However, if the car is in really good condition your best bet is to get it registered here in the U.K. and drive it to Spain on U.K. plates then re-register there. It may sound complicated but I can't see an alternative.i lived in spain for 2 years and you really should of just purchased your car over there - is far easier.
I know thats not much help to you now having already bought it though.
