Question:
If someone steals my car and I left my keys in it or left it running will my insurance pay it off or is it considered neglegence on my part? I do have full coverage.
Answers:
If it is cold out I would think it rather common in the area for people to warm their cars up before they head to work. If you had started the car and locked the doors, intending to unlock it with the other set of keys, I believe that would constitute proper precautions given the situation.
If they deny your claim I'd read through the fine print of the policy to see if there are any clauses. I would also ask the insurance company if they cover a complete loss if the car is unlocked and stolen, but no keys were in the car.
in an auto accident? should I sue?
I don't think negligence can come into play because it's a slippery slope if it does. If you got in a car accident because you were fiddling with the radio or checking yourself in the mirror, or your tires were so bald they blew out, would they deny your claim because you were not as attentive as you should have been, or hadn't performed proper maintenance on the car?
If someone gets in an accident and its their fault and they were drunk?
IMO it should be covered, even if they know the keys were in the car. Think about all the things in life you have insurance for and what wouldn't be covered if the insurance company didn't have to pay based on the insured negligence!
Want a new car, huh.
about how much would insurance cost on a '93 chevy siverado?
It's neglegence on your part. That's like saying, "well...it was running but only for a moment!" It doesn't matter. You let it running and were stupid enough to leave the keys in.
What if I don't pay for my out-of-state speeding ticket?
Full coverage means you're covered if it's stolen or wrecked, not if you're stupid enough to leave it unlocked with the keys in it.
can i drive in america with my japanese driver's license? what about renting a car?
Can be considered negligent. In many places it is also illegal to leave your car unattended while running or with the keys in it.In CA, which will raise my insurance rates more, a speeding ticket or a red light camera ticket?
Happened to a friend of mine and he didn't get a penny from the insurers.I know for some states they only need one, and others two, why is this?
negligence,so sorry...Difference between International Driving license and permit?
This is a no brainer, if you left the keys in the car you were negligent. However, if the insurance company doesn't know that........It will be a judgement call by the insurance adjuster. It could go either way.
Quit trying to be dishonest. It will only bite you in the a.. in the end.

I want to get a job to pay for car insurance....?
Insurance, unfortunately, does cover stupidity in most cases. You are probably covered though you may be shopping for insurance at renewal time.Your liability coverage will pay for any damages or injuries to innocent thirt parties. Your comp and collision coverage may very well not pay anything for the damage to your car. Read your policy. Mine is pretty specific; I'm NOT covered in that case.
