I went to the movies tonight and another vehicle backed into mine. The other person admitted to fault. My driver's license is suspended though because of an unpaid ticket. Does it mean that I cannot claim? Should I just ask him to pay for repairs himself?

1. Ignore the people saying you can't make a claim because you had a suspended license. That is not true at all. While you should not be driving with a suspended license, doing so does not automatically keep you from being paid a claim just because you were driving when you shouldn't have been.

If the car was insured then they will still pay. Even though you should not have been driving it they damaged your property. It would be the same as if it was hit while sitting out in front of your home. Your license is still suspended, but the fool behind the wheel did the damage. Rather you would have been there or not, their client is still responsible.
