Question:
Okay. I had liablity insurance on a car my parents had given me. When my boyfriend got a new truck, I started driving his previous one and gave my car back to my parents. He has liability insurance on the previous truck (the one I drive now). He wants me to get insurance for the truck but the woman I work with said that since I was already an insured driver on my car and he already has insurance on this truck that I do not need to get the insurance on the truck under my name. What should I do?
Answers:
Will the other parties insurance pay?
Insurance is not something you want to gamble with. If you don't do this exactly right you could end up breaking the law (and ignorance is no defense) or in enormous financial trouble if something bad happens and it turns out you are not correctly insured. Before you start driving any vehicle, the first question you should ask yourself is, "Am I correctly, fully, and legally insured to drive this?" If you have any doubt, don't drive until you have spoken with your agent.
I had a car written off, I fixed it. Can I re insure it? (Ontario, Canada)?
All you have to do, is add yourself as an authorized driver on his insurance policy. How much will my insurance be affected with an improper right turn violation?
You don't get insurance for the truck per se, you need to be on his insurance policy for the truck if you are going to be driving it. You need to be an insured driver for that vehicle. I don't think it costs much more if anything at all.Your best bet would be to get in touch with your insurance company and ask them directly.
Operating a vehicle in an unsafe manner does this appear on a person's NJ driving abstract?
Sadly if you take advice from here and unfortunately it turns out to be wrong, the law wont be too tolerant :P
The woman you work with is a moron. I work for an insurance co. You need to be insured on your boyfriend's old truck. The reason is, if you have an "at fault" accident driving his truck, and the insurance company fids out you are a member of his household for all intents and purposes, they will pay the claim and most likely drop your boyfriend.
I need bike insurance 4 6 months only can some one help me plz? :)?
Well, since you gave the other car back to your parents they must insure that car under their names. The car that you are now driving must be insured under your name. The insurance company will only cover the car that is list on the policy at the time of the incident. If the truck that you got from your boyfriend is covered under his insurance that is okay too. You have to be listed as a license driver on your boyfriends policy. If you are not listed as a license driver on his policy and you are driving and get into an accident his insurance company does not have to pay for your bodily injuries. Be advised that if you are no longer the owner of a vehicle you must surrender the plates and who ever has the car now must register it in their name. If a car is registered in your name but no insurance is listed for that vehicle within 30 days your license can be suspended.More Questions & Answers ...
