Question:
I hit a parked car while making a U Turn a few months back. I was NOT filed a ticket, i called my insurance company and they handeled the case with the other parties, then a few days later i got a call from the other parties telling me they wanted more money then the car insurance was giving them...they eventually sued me for 1500 in small claims, they didint show up so the case was dropped. Eventually i got a summons in the mail saying that their insurance company is suing me on behalf of them for 3700! My insurance company appointed me a good lawyer from what i read online but my question is that if we do loose the case will i have to pay the 3700 or will my insurance...this is happening in illinois by the way and it is in small claims court.

In Canada, if your selling ur vehicle to a friend and they dont have ins. who is liable?
First off, the best place for an answer is the attorney or the claims adjuster at your company.Cheap car insurance 22yr old just passed test but have been banned for drink driving?
During my career in claims I have been involved in a couple of dozen small claim court cases in Northern IL. Normally, your insurance carrier is going to pay if you lose the case. Keep in mind that other side has to prove their claim to the court.
What year is my car? it is a K reg?
Just a guess on my part, but I figure that the other party made a claim to your company for some outrageous demand and your company denied that part of the claim. I have seen this happen many times. Especially when people get paid for used parts on their car but want brand new parts on a 6 yr old car. They take the insurance check then sue for what they believe they have coming to them. Another big reason for this kind of lawsuit is loss of value when selling the car down the road. If that is the case, the insurance company attorney will know how to deal with that BS.
Good Luck and make sure to talk to that attorney or your adjuster for more concrete answwers.

If I move to another state - how long will my previous auto insurance be valid?
No, this usually doesn't work. Follow up with your attorney and ask him questions. Do not talk to the other party or their attorney neither.More Questions & Answers ...
