Question:
He received it in an auto accident. He was in the hospital for two days and off work for 5 weeks. When he returned he was put on light duty for 2 weeks. It's a 25% fracture of I believe L1 or L2. We do not have an attorney and are going to try to settle this ourselves. What kind of settlement should we be looking for?

Make sure you do all of this in a relative short time period. Remember, you only have one year in which to file a court case from the date of injury and an attorney will need some time to prepare and to do it if you can't come to an agreeable settlement. Do not waive anything without the advice of at least a qualified legal aid. Again, this is just my opinion based on what you've stated in your question.
