Red light traffic ticket -by 1 sec?

Question:
Hi, i was shock when i got pulled over by a police man at the LAX,he gave me a red light ticket stating i'm 1 second late.I don't think i ran a red light and I have good driving history, never had ticket or accident for the past 13 years. what should i do? will it increase my insurance premium? should i go to court to dispute or just take it and go to traffic school. I'm assuming by going to traffic school can avoid the point and premium increase right?

Answers:

Help please?

It doesn't really matter if you were 1 second late, or 13 seconds late. The light wasn't PINK, it was RED. The level of forgiveness you're wondering about doesn't exist anymore.

If I need to take my driving test at the dmv, does the car insurance have to be under my name?

You can go to driving school if you wish.. but I've been told by insurance companies that they still find out about it anyway.

Reasonable settlement amount in AL for car accident w/bodily injury?

the law is such that you have to clear the intersection by the time the light turns red, so you were just caught even though it happens a lot. if you have the time, try and fight it. or you can pay the fine, opt for traffic school and lose 8 hours in class. i'm not sure if one ticket will increase your insurance.

Is there a certain business license required in California for towing companies?

Anytime you enter an intersection when the light is not green, you can be ticketed for running a red light. Did you enter on yellow? If so, what would you be fighting? Chances are he has you on tape on his dash cam.

Only your insurance company can say whether or not it will raise your premium. Yes, some states will allow traffic school and that will keep points off your record.

How can i show proof of ID?? {PLEASEE}?

I had the same thing..it was late at night and i could have sworn i had a green light because the guy in the turning lane had an arrow but im not completly sure so the cop pulled me over and gave me a ticket...def go to court and plead not guilty...they usualy let you off with a parking ticket in lue of original charge..i paid like 85 dollars i think...this does not go on your insurance because its a non moving violation. But go to school any ways, 10% off...that saved me 400 bucks

Does the provisional license have a paper counterpart (D740)?

Fight it... Worst case scenario, you get the red light ticket. Best case scenario, they throw out your ticket.
You have a good driving history so they should be lenient. Just state the excuse to the judge... for example, if it was raining, say that you were afraid you were going to skid so you decided it would be safer to run it just a bit.
Good luck

What happens if someone hits you from behind and you don't have car insurance?

Take it to court and ask for a trail over it . Most of the time they will drop it to save the courts time and money. The courts are way to busy and will let 1st time offender go most of the time

Where can I find the online Missouri Driving book?

Correct. A point on your record increases your insurance premium for either 2 or 3 years, I believe 3. I have no idea how much it'd raise your premium, I keep basic insurance on a 13 year old car and it'd be several hundred dollars a year for me.

Traffic school avoids the point and prevents the insurance premium increase. Cost is $25 + cost of the traffic school (provided by third parties), typically $45-$90. No brainer :)

You COULD also fight the ticket. I have "heard" that courts will not offer you traffic school if you fight and lose, but I fought my last ticket and still was offered traffic school. So I could be wrong, you should certainly ask for it in court.
