Im trying to buy this truck but the guy has lost the titile. I ran a Car fax and the title is good. Is there a search I can do online to check to make sure there isn't any liens against the truck?

There is no where that I know of that you can search online for a lienholder.

You could try Carfax. Really it's his responsibility to get a duplicate title, because there will be a fee for that too, and it's up to him to prove to you he owns the vehicle in the first place.Would you take your bosses online traffic school course if he/she asked you??
You can contact the DMV records division, they can give you all the info you need to make a good decision. They will have lien info, if the car has been totalled before, etc. Anything CarFax has, you can get for free from your licensing office.More Questions & Answers ...
