Question:
Hi, I hit someone by car in Egypt, just minor injuries, however, he claims companisation and win the case by court, the insurance company was envolved in the case too as an insurer (third party liability obligatory insurance). now shall i pay the whole claim amount? or the insurance company should pay automatically? or i should claim the insrance company first to force her to pay or what? I need to know the laws cause i dont recall what was written in that insurance policy as we here consider this as a routine paprers and dont look at it. thank you

Why are motor vehicle agencies hidden?
Ouch! Sorry to read you are in such trouble. OK wel lthe bad newsis if you hit someone in Egypt with your car ..and eithere one admit it or got a ticket for it and there were witnessesor if you have gone ot court and lost.....then I regret to inform you that yes you OWE. Make sure you get the injured party to sign a legal statement indicating they are fine now and have been cleared by a doctor...date ti and put it in an envelope and mailit to your self. This is for your own protection ..never opne this letter unless you get dragged inot court with this other party claiming months later that YOU INJURED THEM AND THEY WANT EVEN MORE COMPENSATION! Having this letter covers you. Now as for your insurance company they may or may not be required to restore any funds you pay out ...it depends on what kind of coverage that you elected to take out with them ...and if it was a rental car you were using there and I assume it was and you failed to get the insurance that they offer then your car insurance may not be obligated to cover you in a country outside of the USA. EVERY POLICY has different clauses ...and ti is up to you to elect to add these ..most Americans do not have this coverage though.Soyea ...you must pay the whole claim amount unless you appeal it to a higher court..consult your lawyer about this process as it is not the same everywhere. As for the laws well they should be available at your local Embassy.
Good luck and buckle up(oh and no more cell while you're driving)
