Insured driver uninsured vehicle?
Take the vehicle back to the country stated on the documentation, or:
Get the documentation changed to reflect the Spanish address, THEN you can get the ITV done. To do that, you need to get export certificates etc.
Insurance policy lapsed for a month...should I pay now that I have a new company?
I'm English, living in Spain and had to do the 2nd option. A real pain I tell ya!
Traffic court or pay the ticket?
As far as i can recall, it depends where it is registered. If it's Spanish-registered, and your Spanish address is on the documents you have an ITV done. Sorry, stating the obvious on reflection!DVLA Question - lost paperwork (UK)?
If it's UK registered, you either have to bring it back to the UK to have the MoT done here, or you have to go through the paraphernalia of "exporting" it to Spain - as I recall, that's an excruciating process but acheivable if you're determined!
Has anyone heard of courier exchange?
PS Apologies to the prior responder, I've only just seen your reply.
Do i still needs to pay my insurance?
Well, basquemac lives in Spain, and has had his own experience, but this does contrast with mine.My brother in law has lived in Torrevieja for 15 years, and took his Orion with him. It's still Brit reg and plated,(illegal)but he has his ITV regularly,no problem.A Canadian friend arrived in Malaga with his Canadian reg Toyota, and again had no problem getting it I.T.Vd. (Although he couldn't get insured as his d.licence was from outside the E.U.) I overheard another guy getting an I.T.V. who said he didn't want to import his car as he spent 6 months each year in the U.K.,again no problem getting it ITVd. After all,if they refused to ITV it,how could they penalise you for not having it?More Questions & Answers ...
