Who would be responsible for damages for cars that parked too close to you?

Question:
say you leave work or school or wherever you have to park on the street, not in the parking lot. when you come out to leave you are sandwhiched between two cars with little room to get out without hitting either car. how would you get out if you dont know who the cars belong to? say either car was damaged, are you responsible for this? just a thought, this didnt happen to me.

Best car insurance!! nyc?

I am pretty sure you would be responsible, after all you did hit another car. Even if they sandwiched you in. If there are little marks on the ground seperating the parking spaces, you might have a case that they were parked too close.
But I am pretty sure you can't hit another car just because you couldn't get out. So make sure you leave plenty of space infront of you, which of course doesn't help if the guy in front of you leaves and someone else parks there and backs right up to you.

I bought this car lost title before i got it transferred over, cant find guy?

I have no idea what you would do in that situation though... I guess you have no choice but to wait, or do a hit and run!

My car is in new york i want it registered in virginia?

Hehe, you know how in some parking lots there are compact spaces close to the store or whatever, and then bigger spaces far away? I watched this guy in a suburban try to squeeze into a compact spot for about 5 minutes. He kept backing up, pulling forward, to get himself in there (a regular parking spot btw) it really took like 5 minutes. There were larger spots, with no one else parked there, only 10 or so spots away. I couldn't believe it, who would waste that much time? In the end he stuck about 5 feet out, so the poor people parked on either side of him would have had problems getting into their cars, but then backing out as well! What a jerk.

It would be your fault, you are the one who hit the parked car.

Does how many times your license suspended affect your insurance rates?

If you hit their car it would be your fault, but since you are leaving and no one will see you then do your worst. That will teach them not to park so close.

If i rent a car and was later told the car was damaged , who will pay the damage, my insurance comp or his?

You would absolutely be responsible. Yea, the guys a jerk for parking close. But you cant just hit something b/c its in the way. DUH!

Ever had a dui? and how did you handle it?

And, OKKK to the person who said "do your worst" and leave... see if your still saying that when your sitting in a jail cell for a hit and run b/c someone got your license plate

Provisional License..?

Always remmeber this saying " You damage it you are responsible and have to pay to fix it". SO always try to park where no one can park too close. SOme people park real close so they can get their car fixed better or to get money from someone.
