Question:
I am going to take my driving test next week. I was planning on bringing a friend along with me (licensed driver). My mom bought the car for me, but it is in her name and under her insurance. Does that mean that she has to be present at my test? Does she have to sign anything giving me permision to use the car? Btw, I live in California, in case the law varies by state. Thanks!
Answers:
I loaned a vehicle; and they will not return the vehicle; what can I do?
No. All the examiner will ask for, is the proof of insurance card. Should be in the glove box with the registration papers, which he'll also want to see.No, the registered owner does not have to be present and no they don't have to sign anything for you to take the driving test in the vehicle. What is more relevant is that you show up with a qualified driver in the vehicle with you (if you are driving that day) and that you haven't done anything to the vehicle that deems it not road safe, lower it, tinted all the windows, replaced the steering wheel with a "funny" wheel, things like that. If you have the examiner won't even get in the vehicle with you and you've just wasted every ones time and money including yours.
no ur mom doesnt have to be there.. im takin mine as well on the 21st . i had to go and insure my car. u can get a temp. insurance for now if u want. all u need is for ur car to be insured, if its not they wont allow u to take the test. once you pass the test u gotta be added to ur moms insurance and to the car! one thing though u gotta be 18 for this to apply. if ur not then ur mom has to be there.
no ,she don't have to be with you to do this,as long as its in her name, and its insured they shouldn't say anything about it,as long as you came with a licensed driver, good luck,i hope this helps.
