Question:
I'm going to be renting a vehicle from Thrifty car rental in Puerto Rico next week and I would like to just use my own insurance for the car. Does anyone know if Allstate covers driving in Puerto Rico? Thanks.
Answers:
If MY car got stolen, why is my insurance treating me like I'm the criminal?
I am going to give you the same advice I am give to all my insureds. BUY THEIR POLICY. I have had two insureds do damage to the rental. Both car rental companies went out and purchased a new vehicle, sold the damaged one and billed the customer for the difference. In one case it was 8,000. There was only 4000 in damage to the vehicle.
Call Allstate and find out what they say. Their policy mya be different.
Is it one's right to ask another party's auto insurance for a copy of their investigation?
i think it does if you notify them that your taking the trip,i have farm bureau ,and on there policy i was reading about it,and it stated that if you take such a trip to let them know you are going and it will cover it,i don't know why they have the stipulation in there for though,it should cover you in any state any where you can drive a vehicle to,but on some policy's i have seen it says covered in all 50 states in fine print,so id call and be sure on it,good luck, enjoy the trip.NO...your Allstate policy is VERY specific...it only allows coverage in the continental U.S. only.
