My roommate said I could have his car before he left the state for good. We could not find the title anywhere because his psycho ex hid the title. He left for cali and I am in pa. now i have a car with no title and she refuses to give it to me. What can i do to get this car legally in my name? can he get a new title sent to cali from the pa dmv? how do we do this. his ex is psycho stalker crazy and won't give ot to me unless i tell her where he went which is something i refuse to do cuz she drove him nuts and basically forced him out of the state with her psychoness

Your friend should be able in his state to get another title and then send it to you to have the title transferred over to your name. If you cant get hold of him you can go through the court system in PA to get a new title issued in your name.

the roommate who left can order a duplicate title from the state where the car is registered. there is probably a fee for this. just call up the dmv to ask them or go online, you can probably download the form online.

If title is in his name only he can get a new one and then he could sent it to you. You could also present a bill of sale to the police and force her to give up a stolen item which is the title itself, if her name is not on title it is considered theft, you may need friend to file complaint but I would at least talk to the cops.More Questions & Answers ...
