Question:
I was just wondering what company has the cheapest insurance for a 17 year old male with three traffic tickets. I'm not looking for a lecture on how I should know better or to have people call me stupid. I've already learned my lesson and I don't speed anymore. But these tickets are still following me around for the next three years. I leave for college in a couple months, and I need a car. But everywhere we have called (Progressive, Allstate, Nationwide, etc.) has given us a quote that is over ten times what we are paying now. Anybody have any advice? Who is usually the cheapest company to go through?

be ultra nice to your parents and pay them to let you drive one of their cars!It varies from person to person. Best thing to do is to call around and get quotes. Every company will be more than happy to do that for you.

For me, Progressive was the cheapest... however, I'm a female with no traffic violations, so it could be completely different for you.

If you are putting a car in your own name, get a quote where you will be in college (if it is out of state, you will need to register the vehicle & get your license in that state), see if that rate is better. Get an OLDER car which you can put liability only on it. You are talking 10 times more - if you were paying $1,000 on your parents policy, which is SUPER cheap for a young male driver - I personally have never seen that (even with ALL possible discounts & liability only) I think about impossible - but I will give you the benefit of the doubt, you are getting quotes for $10,000/yr - there is no way you are putting liability only on the vehicle. The best rates I have ever seen for young male drivers with tickets is Progressive. Have you been a listed operator on your parents policy continuously for at least 6 months? Have your parents maintained at least $100,000/$300,000/$50,000 liability? If so, these are 2 discounts on the Progressive policy that will make a difference in the premium. Did you ask your parents' agent to quote coverage for you? That would be a good place to go too.I had a car accident two weeks ago and my car was a rite off.?
Your probably going to be best off having the car insured by the company that insures your parents cars. It may allow you to take advantage of things such as multi-car discounts or multi-line discounts if they also have their homeowners insurance with the same company. These types of discounts can really reduce the premiums.Car insurance deductible...If I backed my fully covered car.?
That being said, you can still expect to pay a lot of money for the next several years for your insurance. A 17 year old male is a considered by the insurance companies to be a high risk. Not lecturing, but since you've accumulated three speeding tickets in one year, you can understand why. Even with good grades, premiums for 17 year old males are high. If you have three speeding tickets, your premiums are going to be bordering on astronomical. Honestly, you may even have a problem finding a company who is willing to write you.
How To Get A New Registration / Owners Card For My Car In The State Of Pennsylvania?
Progressive and Nationwide are probably going to be your best bet, but like you said, the rates will be high. My son also had tickets(far more than you!) and my insurance quadrupled when I had he and his twin sis on my insurance. I was forced to put exclusions on them for my cars, and then got their insurance a bit cheaper, but not much. Sorry, but until you turn 25, your rates are going to be very high.Any legal way to get rid of a car without damaging my credit?

What are the steps to owning your very own car? What requirements do you need?
Go for the lower insurance companies, because you have to face it, you will pay more for premium insurance companies and because you have those violations your insurance is going to cost more.More Questions & Answers ...
