Have you had good/bad experiences with Geico Auto Insurance?

I am looking into new auto insurance. What kinds of experiences have you had with Geico?

I'm about 2 buy my first car, do I need auto insurance before I buy the car or can I wait until after I buy?

I've had them for years and have had mostly good experiences with one exception. My insurance lapsed for a day for non-payment and I immediately paid on-line when I realized that I'd screwed up. That day - about 9 hours later - I got rearended by an uninsured motorist and they refused to cover it because I couldn't prove the time of the accident - the police wouldn't come because there were no injuries and minor damage. I reported it as a counter report the next day - as the police instructed. They never denied or paid the claim, just kept saying it was being reviewed. I could have gone to the Department of insurance, but chose not to do so as it just wasn't worth it. Still, overall their rates are good and I've been happy with them with just the one exception.
