Question:
Do you just need an address, or can you put NJ as your home address on a South Dakota form?
If you have an address, do you need to prove you own that, or just live there?

Which is the world's costliest car?
You need to have a valid address in the state where you reside. If you move to a city within the same state, you are required by law to notify the licensing agency within ten days, in most states. If you move to another state, by law you need to change your residency within 30days, and apply for the license in that state. You have to prove residency by means of rent receipts, electric/utility hook-up and statements, usually also providing proof of insurance, and if the city you live has an emission test requirement, that too must show the address where you physically live. If you live in a roommate situation and utilities are not in your name, you will need to provide further identification documents, possibly with more than one picture i.d.Getting a Utah driving licence with UK licence?
I believe you have to actually live in the state. I've had drivers licenses in 3 states - CA, NY, MI - and in all 3, I believe I actually had to show a utility bill to establish my address in the state (that I live in, not necessarily own). Celphone bills not accepted. :)You need proof of address.
