Question:
I had no license at the time so couldn't get the title in my name. The car broke and cost $500 to fix so my step mother paid for it. My sister's car broke down for good so she had no car to get to work. My dad asked me if my sister could use the car if she paid back my step mother. I agreed and then behind my back they go get the title in my sister's name. I have kept quiet for months but now I finally have my license. My sister says she owes me nothing and that the car is hers. Is there anything I can do to get back the car?

Get Florida license with Maryland permit?
it depends WHO paid for it and do you a ha receipt proving you bought itif not lesson learned next time sign your name on the title
no one can change title till you sign off
all so id tell your parents if they bought the car for you that they need to replace it or you bought the car id take them to Cort and make them replace it a gift can not be taken back
they will have to compensate you in the Cort's eyes
good luck
You have no proof the car is yours so no you cannot get it back UNLESS your father and step mother step in for you to get the car back from her. If I was you I would tell them that THEY owe you a car since they GAVE her YOUR car.

Did you think you were loaning her the car? If so, why would she pay off your step mom if she thought she was just using the car until you got one of her own? I think maybe the three of you need to sit down and clear the air. I think your dad meant, since your sister was working, and needed transportation, that paying $500 would be reasonable, and that in the future when you were ready with your license, then your dad could purchase a used vehicle for you and you could pay him back. If your sister did pay off your step mom, I think it best if you let it go, on the condition that your dad help you now, I see no other fair way. not a damn thing if the title is not in your name and you dont have a receipt/ proof of purchase.Talk to your dad about this. They should not have done that. They should have at least told you that they were going to change it.
