Where do I go to get a Florida License plate??
contact your state DMV to learn how long they linger; but 3 points inn't usually enough to be concerned with.How long do you have to make a report on a hit and run fender bender?
The points on your licence are 'valid' for three years. That means they count for what is called totting up for three years. (Totting Up - if you get 12 valid points on your licence you get banned from driving)After 4 years you can apply to have a new licence issued without the points shown on the paper part.
After 5 years your insurance company will stop caring about them.
Most States leave the points on at least eighteen months. Some insurance companies will "forgive" the first couple of points, but not all of them do so. You can reduce the severity of the point accumulation (usually) by enrolling in a State approved driving course, such as the one offered by AARP.
How do I bring a car that's in another state?
Check you State's rulebook, or web site, then check with the insurance carrier to determine if it's worth the effort to enroll in one of the courses. Usually it is beneficial to do so.

Does one need to live in a state to get a drivers license there?
The actual offence is valid for 3 years in terms of collecting points on your licence - the maximum before you lose your licence being 12.
The offence remains printed on your drivers licence for 4 years - after this time you can get the points removed by contacting the DVLA... or if you by any chance need to update your recorded address, then you don't have to pay for it! ;-)
Can CA dmv assign penalty points for (my fault) accident, tho no citation was issued?
Having said all that, the offence remains valid for 5 years in the eyes of the insurance companies. i.e. it will be a factor for your insurance costs even after it has cleared your licence.
Light vehicle damage yet serious injury?
These 3 points will stay in your drive license for 5 years. Every year will come down one point or two points depending for violation. So, expect 2 or 3 years for your points to go down to 9 again. But if you have another accident or violation, your point will go up again.3 years thats the truth!
As you're on a UK & Ireland site, I presume you're in the UK! In which case, all the guff about DMV etc is pointless. As usual.
How many questions can you get wrong on a dmv written test?

* causing death by careless driving whilst under the influence of drink/drugs (shown on the licence as CD40, CD50 and CD60)

* reckless/dangerous driving (shown on the licence as DD40, DD60 and DD80)
