i think you lose your ncb if you dont have a policy for two years. check by ringing an insurance company. cheapest place to go is moneysupermarket.com. they compare hundreds of policies
there is no way round this problem ,the insurance companies have it all tied up ,if you try it they will not pay out.dont think you are the first person to think of it

You need to be aware that your Dad's NCB will have expired 2 years after his last policy ended.
