He would lose out on getting to drive for awhile, and I don't know about jail-probably just no license for awhile. As for you, You are the registered owner of the truck, since I don't know what state you reside in, please call your local police station or state patrol to get the answer. And, please, stop letting an unlicensed 17 yr. old drive your truck. Hypothetically, if you are insured (& I do hope you are), your insurance rates would go up higher if anything happened with him driving your vehicle. As a side note, the reason insurance rates are so high to begin with, is because there are people who are not insured, and others that not only are not insured, but not properly licensed, drive, get into an accident, etc. Please be more responsible than that.
