im gonna take my drivers lic. test soon so i have my permit, last yr. when i got my permit, the police officer told me to come back with just my permit, and my insurance...now im hearing something about social security and proof of residence? but i brought that with my permit...y would they need that again... what documents do i have to bring in order to get my license?

They just want to make sure that when you get in a car , they want to be able to put that with your permanet record or if you get a ticket for speeding or something. Then they can tell you you need to take your driving test again. Also want to be able to call the insurance if you get in a bad car and could reach the phone and someone on the road calls 911... the police will come look at you and they'll send someone back to look at your records and the copy of your drivers licence and the copy of the insurance card and your insurance card to make sure you hadn't changed any of that.Allstate Auto Insurence?
