I have just had a minor fender-bender. If the estimate to repair the damage is not too expensive, I will not?

Question:
file an insurance claim. If it is more than I can afford, then I will have to file a claim. It may take several days to get estimates. My question ----can the insurance company refuse my claim because it was not reported promptly?

I was driving on the highway and something fell from a truck and I hit it. It tore my bumper on my car.?

Yes. They can deny your claim for this.

for auto insurance purposes, is it possible to have dual residence in separate states?

There is a clause in your insurance contract which talks about "prompt and accurate reporting" by you. There usually is no definative amount of time that you have but the insurance company can deny your claim if they think it is fishy.

Do I need a Texas drivers license if I'm a out of state student?

If you want to do this, I would go get the estimate as soon as possible. Some insurance companies will let you call them to report it and not "file" a report. You may want to call them anyway to see if this is the case. You may even get away with telling them the truth. Some insurance companies are nicer than others.

They can deny any claim for anything.

where in the US can I get a liscence @ 13-15??

However, if you filed a police report at the time of the accident they don't have any reason to deny it. Not calling them promptly is not a reason to deny a claim. If you didn't file a police report then you don't have any evidence for them of what and where it happened so they can deny it. But either way, a day or two isn't a big deal. If you wait a month or two to file then chances are they will deny the claim.

Do municipal speeding tickets for Ohio show up on an MVR?

The usual timeframe for accident notification is 24 hours. You should have a booklet on your Insurance Companies Policies and it should tell you what your responsibilities are with regards to notification of an accident.
I would contact the Insurance company now and let them know about the accident, give them a reason for delay in notification. Also explain that you are going to find out repair costs and will not make a claim if excess and repairs are on a par.
Making Insurance claims is the consumer's choice, notification to the Insurance provider is simply notifying them of an intention to make a claim. If repairs are equal or lesser in cost than excess that must be paid it makes sense to not make a claim and Insurance providers are okay with this.
As I have said above, ring your Insurance provider and find out what you need to do now. Hope you are within their timeframe, good luck.
