How do you dispute an accident/s on your DMV report?

Question:
I lived in TX for several years. Living in CO for the past 4. I am shopping around for lower rates on my insurance and discovered through more than one insurance company that I have several accidents on my DMV report, although I nor my vehicles have never been in an accident. I don't need the number to the DMV. I've called it and is always busy. How can I dispute these marks without pressing "redial" all day?

How long is it b4 you have to take your bike test on a provisional license??

Okay, it could be as simple as someone (from any number of places) transposing a number in a computer system somewhere. Or it could be a lot more sinister than that.

First of all, which state is listing these accidents?

How long does insurance company have to respond to a claim?

I ask because both of these things are completely different. Calling the DMV might help, if they're the ones who are listing this info. However, it's much more likely that the info is coming from an ALH report.

How do I save on auto insurance?

I know, it sounds crazy, but the types of things you describe are usually the first signs of trouble. In the good ol' days, people only stole identities if they could rack up lots of fraudulent credit card loot and run. These days, they steal identities for everything from sniping your health insurance to hiding the fact that their vehicle was a titled as a total loss.

Uninsured and underinsured what exactly does that mean?

If you have a homeowners/condo/tenant policy, or a separte ID theft policy, you may also be able to get some assistance through your insurance company. (And if you don't have that type of coverage, GET IT. It's cheap and as I suspect you're about to discover, a lot easier than cleaning up these kinds of messes on your own!)

Do I need insurance if Im not going to own a car?

** Edited to add:
I forgot to say that, if your issues are coming up on the ALH I mentioned in the first few paragraphs, you should ask the insurance company for the contact info of the name of the company through which they are running the records. There are different companies that run them (for instance, ChoicePoint.) The insurance company should be able to give you contact info for them so you can start disputing it, if necessary.
