Being the nice guy during a bad break up I let my ex keep the car for the kids after a year she was failing to pay the car note and the insurenc lapsed, causing problems at the dmv me with no car I get the car back, get pulled over and recieved a ticket for driving a car with supended regerstation and unisured now i have to go to court will the judge understand however i have turned in the tags and gave the car back to the finance company..

I agree with mnb. If you have insurance and can prove it, the judge may let you off. If he gives you a chance to explain it. Tell him the truth. most judges have heard everything and can tell when you are trying to feed him a line. Be sure and look the judge in the eyes when you are talking to him. If you do not he will decide you have been lying to him.
