Question:
is it true their bringing in a new thing where you have to do a years worth of lessons before you can do the test? if yes any details?
Answers:
I finally passed (lucky number 13) on 1st February 5 weeks before my theory certificate ran out!!
Don't be misled, I'm a very good driver (honest) everyone of my examiners said so. But imagine how long it would have taken me if I had to wait a year before I even took my first test!!
I have also heard that there may soon be a point in the test in which you have to be able to explain how to change a tyre and the oil!! Wouldn't that be fun?
I do think that I'm much more confident and aware than if I had maybe passed early on, so it's not necessarily a bad thing in that respect. After all there has to be a reason why newly passed drivers have to pay more insurance - because they are more likely to have an accident.
I thinks perhaps increasing the age restriction would also be a positive step (I hear a mass BOO!! from the under 18's) just my opinion, don't shoot me!!
Does anyone know how long I will be banned from driving? And how it affects my insurance?
Not that I've heard, but it could be. It's not a bad idea though. Insurance co.s will give discounts for completing a qualified driver training course. Are there special car rental rates for accidents?
It is all hearsay at the moment, nothing official has been said although, it may not be a bad idea, these boy racers cause as many accidents as old people! Mind you, people over a certain age should take the test again. Can i get car insurance cover with being a learner driver in a car i bought?
The requirements before you take your road test vary from state to state and depending on other factors, such as age and class of license. I live in New York State and I know that the rules you mention do not apply here, at least. How do I get Green Card for Driver's License?
yes, heard it on the news recently but not sure when.no,its not true. people would just give up and it would cost way to much.
Yes hun it is, but if you're already learning i don't believe it counts. Although it's calculated as doing 1 lesson a week = 52 hours of driving, i used to do 4 hours a week so it would have been loads less than a year. Unless you've been driving off road and can almost drive before you start, you'll almost definitely need it anyway! Also it would be a very difficult thing to trace as people stop and start and change company's, i had 4 different driving schools and 7 diff instructors before i found the one that was right for me! So i wouldn't worry! x
