UK Answer..It is a criminal offence for you to drive your Dad's car without him letting your insurance company know about you beforehand, you need to be added as a "Named Driver" If not this would also cause your Dad to be charged with allowing you to take control of the car without insurance, PLEASE be aware that Police have ZERO tolerance on this type of offence and will arrest you as soon as they stop you.
P.S. It only costs an average of £30 extra to add a learner to insurance policies.. Much better to pay them than the court..
