Question:
it was pre 1960 and I sold the car to a friend who eventually scrapped it. He does not know where the paperwork went. Could it still be registered to him? How do I (or he) find out? Have googled it and searched the number plate sales sites
Answers:
If an insurance company denies your claim for an automobile accident how can you open a new claim?
Speak to the DVLA they should have a record of itWell obviously they are not going to put this kind of info on the web for all to see, otherwise you could pick a licence plate from any random person and find out their name and where they live - not a good idea.
However, if your friend remembers which company he bought the car from then he may be able to get in contact with them and try to sort something out. Tell him to offer to give them his details and they check if the details match, so they don't feel they are giving away customer details to someone they shouldn't be giving customer details away to.
Car Accident Settlement Question?
Or if he has any other paperwork which is related to the car, e.g. insurance, then he can find out.
What happens when auto accident is not your fault but considered "no fault?"?
If you've had the same insurance for that long, they might have the info.More Questions & Answers ...
