my dad lives im louisiana and i live up in connecticut with my mom. over the summer im going to get me permit down at my dads house and i want to get me licence down there to because im not going to be able to get mine until im 18 up here. so can i get my licence and also can i use my permit up in connecticut???

You can only get your license in your state of residence, and that is Connecticut.

nope. After 9/11 alot of things have changed. I lived in Indiana and I moved back into Illinois and I wanted to keep my licence from Indiana and just get a state ID from Illinois but they found me in the computer and said that I had to give up my licence from Indiana otherwise they wouldn't give my anything as far as an ID from Illinois.

One of the concerns might be since you are getting your license in LA, you dads address will be on your license, which would mean he would have custody of you (according to the state) which might mean some trouble for your mother regarding her rights as a parent and such..... Do some research first before you make a decision........
