How do I find out who a vehicle tag is registerd to, is there a place where I can search on the net?
You don't want to do that for a couple of reasons or more:
#1. You're going to pay $250 deductible, and when they FIND your car, they're going to fix it. Most cars that get taken are for joy-rides and then abandoned somewhere, or stripped for parts. Unless you have an old junker this isn't going to put you in the "Total Loss" category. Most insurance companies wait 30 days before paying off your vehicle.
#2. When they do find your car stripped, and it is fixed -- chances are it's going to end up in Carfax records and you will have a lesser resale value when you inevitably try to sell it. This represents you being screwed even more than you are now financially.
My husband got a DWI in a different state...does it affect his driving record in other states?
#3. If you REALLY REALLY REALLY get lucky, and the car is stolen and not found, the insurance company will only give you current cash value for it. If you're upside down and don'thave gap insurance you're going to wish to God you'd never left the windows down or the ignitions in the key. Trust me on THAT ONE.

#4. Because YOU were irresponsible and are now contributing to your car being stolen, it will raise my insurance rates and everyone else's reading this. It is known as Insurance Fraud and is also a 3rd Degree Felony.

I sense insurance fraud in your future.I don't think so!
What do you do when your car gets trashed in the parking?
"Full coverage" doesn't get you a new car. Theft coverage, if your car is not recovered, will get you the worth of your car at the time of the theft, adjust for condition. Also, if you haven't taken "reasonable precautions" you are not covered. In your driveway, locked, and stolen, covered.
In a really bad neighborhood, windows down, key in the ignition, not covered.
Can I still get money from this guy hitting my car?
I would never leave my cars unlocked and the windows down. I have full coverage on all of them, but I don't trust anyone. Plus then you pay increased insurance premiums if your car is stolen.I cant think of one good reason someone would do that. You dont just get a "new car"- you get money for a car that was in the same exact condition of your car. Plus, you waste alot of time and money. I wouldnt want to inconvenience myself like that. Plus theres a great chance your rates are going to raise if your insurance pays out alot. PLUS if your upside down on your loan you pay end up owing money... theres a million reasons why not to.

If I am insured on one car, could I drive another car without breaking the law?
You clearly don't know how insurance companies operate. You receive fair market value for your vehicle, if you owe more than the fair market value, you still have to pay off your loan. This commonly happens, don't be fooled. So now, you're paying for a car you don't have, and you need to get another car, likely financed, requiring full coverage. So since you owe on car #1 you don't get the car of your dreams. Beside the fact that your car is stolen, your sense of security is stolen, any personal items in the car are gone. What purpose would be served inviting your car to be stolen?More Questions & Answers ...
