Ok here is the biggest question on the warranty. Who is the company who backs it? If its the factory it may be worth it. What does it cover for 100,000.? For that price it should be extensive. They are betting you will not have the car that long. You need to get most warranties with-in 30 days of the purchase. CAUTION. Make sure the warranty is backed direct. No third party stuff. Too many warranty companies are just that.. They print paper and gamble that you will not have a problem. If they go under you have no recourse. Get one from the factory or directly from an insurance carrier. Geico & Allstate both sell them to their customers. Check around but watch out for cheep ons. Most are under written by a fly by night insurance company in the Bahamas or near there. Grand Caman is the latest nesting grounds. Many people have been dupped as have the dealers selling them by these sharp and agressive warranty companies. I saw one once that gave a 200,000 mile limited power train warranty. Fine print.. the engine block and transmission case were the only items covered and they were not covered if abuse could be proven. In 30 years I have never seen a block or case break, crack or split for defective manufacturing. I have seen blocks crack from over heating etc. Guess what, thats abuse and not covered.. That's not bad. on my E55 it was $6600 (about 1/6 the price of, say, a new engine). definitely buy it - M-B's have lots of electrical issues which are insanely expensive to fix if you pay out-of-pocket. Buy the warranty from the M-B dealership. Buy it as early as possible, it gets more costly as miles accrue on the car.More Questions & Answers ...
