Question:
My aunt gave me a '98 Lincoln, but it's in NY and I'm trying to bring it to MA. How do I go about that? I can't find any info at the DMV website.
Answers:
If it's no longer registered/insured in NY, your best bet is to go to your local DMV office and ask there what's the procedure for getting the car to MA (sometimes it does seem impossible to find the information we are looking for on a web site, and we do need to actually talk to a live person to find out what we are looking for).
I need to know what insurance company has the following number - (i didnt get the company name)?

Extended warranty for MB AMG in California?
umm how about driving it, then go the MA DMV and register itWhat happens when you die in middle of a car loan? who pays.?
Drive it.Insured driver uninsured vehicle?
In KY, we have to take it to the county clerks office and have it inspected and the VIN number checked. Then we may or may not have to pay sales tax on it. This depends on the state where we bought the car, if the sales tax is higher than ours then we don't have to pay extra, if it's less, we have to pay the difference. Then we have to pay property taxes and license fees. MA may be different, but check with the Co. Clerks Office anyway. When I go to get my license...?
You can drive it or have it shipped( which by the way is not cheap)by common carrier try looking under "auto transport" once you get it there you will need to re register it in the new state after a certin period of time dependnig on your state. If the NY DMV website doesn't help, go to a NYDMV office and find out. Most states will issue an out of state temporary plate to transport the vehicle to your home state. However, I just learned that MA does not recognize in transit temps from New York. I would check with MA DMV to see what your options are. You may have to register it in NY, then bring it to MA.
