College Auto Insurance Question?
I was the passenger in a car accident in Alabama in which both cars were totaled and the air bags deployed. The other driver was 100% at fault. I had back pain the day of the accident (x-rays were negative and that pain mostly disappeared after a few days) and a few days later started experiencing joint pain in one hip that made walking almost impossible. After an unsuccessful course of anti-inflammatories and various orthopaedic visits, I spent 2 months in p/t going 2x/week, after which the pain is nearly gone. I was very active before the accident, running 5 miles a day, but during rehab couldn't run at all (and for 3 weeks or so, couldn't walk very easily). My medical bills were $4,000, and while I didn't have any "lost wages", I missed time at work to go to the doctor and had to make up those hours.
I was wondering if people had a ballpark sense of what I should ask for. I've seen the "3x medical bills" guideline but don't know if that's a good one to use
