Got hit by no-fault driver (MI) in my own state (NH) - is he liable for my damages?
He would need to send a certified letter to the last owners on record. You state that they are deceasedd, if this is so, provide death certificates for both, the title to the vehicle,a statement from the executor of the estate, stating they are selling the car for the estate of the deceased. If the vehicle is ten yrs old or newer, an odometer disclosure needs completion. Since the vehicle likely hasn't been driven, a patrol inspection may be due. Proof of insurance at time of registration. Sales tax will be due and payable at time of registration. In the event of a Consumer Proposal or Bankruptcy, can the 407 ETR still deny you plate renewals?

He can only give it to you if he has legal title to it.I would expect that it belongs to the estate of the owners if they are deceased.

Can you replace a lost sticker registration?
I doubt it, as the car is not his. You would have to get the person who has the title to give the car to you. That may or may not be the deceased owner's relatives. Without having the title transferred into your name, the car will never be yours. You'll just be using it without permission(grand theft auto :) )More information is needed for a complete answer.

state law varies but it will probably have to be impounde dfor thirty days them you have that expense if they don't give it to someone else. Find the current title holder and ask them nicely. Can you register a car before passing the smog in CA?
I own a shop in Illinois and have dealt with vehicles left at my shop. In Illinois you can contact the secretary of state and apply for an abandon vehicle title. Until just recently you could only get a salvage title just so you could get rid of the car. Now you can get a title so the vehicle can be driven. I would call your local DMV and see what your options are. You would hate to fix up the car and not be able to legally drive it.I would go to the dmv and file lost titile on the car.

A lot of paper-work, and headaches later, you may be able to title it. Uncle will have to fill out a bunch of papers, and will probbly have to be a bonded title at that. Good luck!
find out whose it is first. Check the glove box. If you still don't know go to the authorities first with license plate #. If no license plate get Vin # and do a lost title search. After that You will know wose it is and ask them. After that I don't know.

go to your local police station and file an abandoned vehicle claim...you will then probably have to wait a little longer and put an ad in the paper looking for someone in care of his estate but they will beable to give you an abandoned title is noone claims it.More Questions & Answers ...
