Does your insurance go up if you file a claim for towing?

I slid into a ditch off an icy road and had to get pulled out. It was $125!!! I just about keeled over! Can I get that back now? I haven't had a claim in over 10 years.

Depending on what state, and what insurance company you have, as long as you have ERS(emergency road service) on your policy it would be reimbursable. If you do have it on your policy it does not count against your rates.. As far as reimbursement some agents depending on the company can reimburse you on the spot at there office. If you call the claims center for your insurance they may tell you towing is only reimbursable up to a certain amt. But usally agents will pay you back above and beyond what the guidelines are.. If you dont have the ers on the policy your may be able to file a claim under coll, or comp for reimbursement, or veh damages but you would have to pay the ded.. As for your rates going up the only time your rates should ever go up is if your in an accident, and are at fault, and the damages are over a 1000 dollars then they may go up.. if the damages are less than a 1000 your rates should stay the same. The same goes for if your in an accident and not at fault your rates will stay the same.. for example sliding into the ditch.. .Good luck.. Sorry about the crappy typing...
