In Ohio, if I'm driving my parents car with my own insurance & i crash can they be sued?

Question:
If I cause damage or injury that exceeds my insurance?

Answers:

DMV catch-22 regarding SR22 coverage! Please Advise?

Your parents insurance will pay first. Insurance follows the vehicle not the driver. So if you get into an accident and there are attorneys involved, your parents will get pulled into the lawsuit as the owners of the vehicle.

Have you got,or owned WWF 157J!?

If your parents are letting you drive the car on a permanent basis, have them retitle into your name and you insure it.

What insurance should I get to be able to pick up and deliver other cars?

In this day & age, anyone can sue anyone for anything!

how many driving lessons?

parents are usually responsible for what their minor children do

In CA, which will raise my insurance rates more, a speeding ticket or a red light camera ticket?

my sister is an insurance agent and just told me the other day that yes the parents are liable for their kids so if you cause an accident and dont' have the money they can go after your parents. I don't see how this is fair especially if the kid is over 18.

where do i junk a car in illinois without a title?

yes they can be sued because they are the owners of the vehicle that caused the injury. Your insurance will step in but they can still be sued.

If you have a DR10, after 5 years, you don't disclose it. How can you insure your own car, but can't hire one

Your not a minor and you were at fault. Who owns the car is irrevant because most people don't own thier cars until paid off. The bank owns them.
You are liable, you can be sued, and from my experiences in OHIO, you shold be sued, for there isn't a one of you that knows how to drive and has any respect for your fellow motorists. Hope I was of help, Vote my answer as best. Thanks...
