In the state of Oregon do you have to take drivers ed to get a permit?

Question:
I'm 16, and I'm moving from California to Oregon. I don't have a permit yet. In Cali, you have to take Driver's Ed. before you take the test at the DMV. Do you have to take Driver's Ed. in Oregon?

Answers:

How do I change the number and letter on my license plate? Do I have to pay annual fee for that?

No, since most schools had to do away with the program in their High Schools due to funding issues, it isn't a requirement. But you will have to bring a lot of stuff with you to the DMV (including a birth certificate or other proof of your age and proof that you live in Oregon). Getting a copy of your birth certificate before you move (if you don't have one) is a really smart idea.
