My family has started talking about me getting my license, but I'm too scared to. And I can't tell them that. I hate a minor car incident happen when I was a bit younger but my friends and I only know about it, and I think that is what is most worrying me. I don't want to ever think about driving. there are just too many accidents. And I wouldnt want to be held responsible for any one elses lives. What do I do ? They are egging me on to get my license...

The other thing is, if you do tell your family you don't want to learn to drive, it would be pretty cheeky to at the same time expect them to give you lifts everywhere! So you may want to take this into account when you make your arguments.

i was in an accident with my dad when i was 15 years old. over the years my fear for other cars, robots and trucks never went away 'i am 24 now'.. but when i started to drive it got better and i felt more comfortable in the driver's seat then in the passenger's. i was scared at first and thought I'd never be able to drive but as i got better at driving i also realized what a difficult life i would lead if i have to depend on other people. just remember. when you drive you cannot be scared. a scared driver is a dangerous driver. but take everyday step by step and you'll see that in no time you will drive and be confident and you'll even be a better driver then most people because of your respect for the road and other motorists. good luck and i hope all goes well.Well personally I would practice more, get in a parking lot and drive around till you are comfortable behind the wheel. Just tell them you aren't comfortable driving on the Hwy yet, they should understand that. If you are uncomfortable behind the wheel you don't need to be on the road. Personally I feel much safer driving myself than riding with someone else. Don't worry about it, alot of people feel that way, in fact my brother still doesn't want to drive and he is 20. Small or big incidents can happen in every single minute in our lives wether we wanted it or not so dont take one that happend years ago for a reason not to drive , just take it easy, relax and try thinking of the good side of having a driving liscence and the pleasure of driving itself.

You can do it girl. I was scared too...EVERYBODY would bug me about getting my liscence and it would embarress me and make me upset and I would cry some even. But I just figured what the hell...I'm gonna go get my liscence so these people will shut up. So I practiced with 3 different instructors, and finially when I was 18 I got it after failing the test twice because I was so nervous. Girl, just get in the car and get it.
