You will get a summons to go to british court & they will give yoy 6points for driving without insurance.That is how many points you get for driving without insurance.When you apply for your british license it will come to you with the 6 points on.In UK you are allowed 6points in the 1st 2yrs of a provisional license & 12points on a full license befor you get banned.My friend had a situation where he got points befor he had a license & when he applied for it a few years later the points were on it even though he didnt have a lisence when he went to court.I dont know how it will affect your international license.Some countrys licenses are accepted as full & you can get a british 1 sometimes you have to sit a british test.It depends which country its from.Ask the citizens advice bereau for free or ask a solicitor(get a free 1/2hr)If you get insurance, go to court, and show them proof of insurance, the charges will most likely be dismissed. If it's not, I don't really know what to tell you about international licenses and its impact on them. All I can really attest to is the fact that even between states driving records are not always maintained. I've been living in Virginia for years and have had multiple tickets, but a lot of them didn't show up on my record for my North Carolina license.

You should not be driving without insurance, If you had an accident, and its your fault whos going to pay for the damage repairs. If you hurt someone or worse you go to prison. You probably know that you need to get a UK licence for use after 12 months in this country. Driving without valid insurance can attract 6 - 8 points. These will be applied to your new licence when you get it.
Under the New Driver Scheme, you're only allowed 5 points within the first two years before, with 6 points or more, you revert right back to provisional anyway. Penalty points gained prior to the first driving test, which are within the three-year validity period, will also be taken into account. However, these will only come into scope of the Act if you incur further penalty points during the probationary period.
