Question:
In 2004 my husband got a DWI, shortly after he moved to his home state, he never went to court on his offense and now he just paid it. But i am worried that it is going to affect our insurance rates, even though it didnt happen in this state.
Answers:
What is the least amount of car insurance I need to have on a car that doesn't have a loan on it?
Most states have reciprocity laws... that means that they report traffic and criminal convictions to the offenders home state, and it will go on your driver's license there. If he paid the fines, he pretty much pled guilty, and they will now enter the conviction and report it to your state. He might get away with it for a while, depending on how often your insurance company checks the status of his license. If you change insurance companies they will find it when they check his driving history.AZ vehicular law: expired out-of-state inspection sticker?

If you are in a car accident and it is the other person's fault...insurance question?
At the very least, you can expect your insurance premium to increase. Additionally, your current insurance policy could be cancelled and/or your husband could be required to file an SR-22 with the state.
Driver license renewal, when no valid I-94?
As the other answerer stated, I'm surprised he still has a license. I'm even more surprised that he hasn't done jail time.
It varies from state to state.
Some states have reciprical agreements. These are agreements that allow a person of a state to go to court in another state for a traffic violation, but does not pay the fine or serve jail time until they return to their home state. It amounts to about the same as if you committed the traffic violation in your home state.
It will depend on your insurance co. to decide if your rate will go up for the DUI in another state and how much.
