My car was totaled. How can I check that I´m no longer an owner. Insurance company bought it from me.?

Is there a way to check that insurance company released me as the onwer in the DMV department. Just asking in case if something went wrong and I am still the owner and owe some taxes.

Don't worry about it. Once they have sent you a check and taken the car away, it belongs to the insurance company. In the event you do happen to get a renewal notice, read it carefully. I would expect that you would have signed the title over to the insurance company. That's the standard way to transfer ownership of the car, whether it's in showroom condition, or it looks like a ball of tinfoil.
